Kathleen Dittmer first arrived in Santa Fe in 1974 in
search of heirloom beads and interaction with American Indian people. Old trading posts supplied her with
materials to create beaded pouches, moccasins, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets for "The Cowboy Way."
From 1992 through 1995 she attended the Institute of
American Indian Arts where she majored in Museum Studies and graduated with a Fine Arts degree.
After graduation Kathleen wrote grants funded by the Smithsonian Institute and the
National Park Service. As a Consultant and Grant Administrator she traveled to museums with tribal members, viewed
artifact collections, and videotaped elders in consultation with museum staff.
Over the years Kathleen exhibited her work at resorts, ranches and historic inns
across the west. During weekly trunk shows she sold jewelry to collectors from around the world.
Now based in Tesuque, on Santa Fe's north side, Kathleen offers Healing
Touch, Healing Stones, Healthy Gardens and Cuisine. For an appointment call 982.3839 or write kdhummingbird@earthlink.net
